Observations regarding last night’s budget meeting

First of all, notice that the meeting was taking place was only posted an hour before the meeting.

Secondly, the fact that we compensate a hand picked employee in training, without proper certification, more hourly than our chief and constables, more than the clerks, more than justices, bookkeepers, supervisor, and other essential workers is beyond me. Almost $10/hr higher than any of these positions, with no mention, yet we debate the cost of yearly dog food expense ($200/yearly) for 15 minutes. Where are our priorities? Are there people in the town already trained for said position? Why wasn’t the job posted and made public? Why do you make more in training than our certified heroes and public servants? Is this what good governance looks like? Is this what fiscal responsibility looks like?

I promise to do better.
